Gympie Times Cartoons 1985 August- September.

By this time, Gympie Councillors had just about become used to their council activities portrayed as Entertainment, from Theatre to Sports and all between - all part of Public life.

03 August 1985   A bit of theatre can make a difference, you know!

10 August 1985            The prices were going up then, too!

17 August 1985                 District Tourism was competitive!

24 August 1985     The Mayor and a couple of Councilors doing their usual act- raising the Rates.

31 August 1985     A talented bunch, those Councilors/"Teachers."

7 September 1985    Surely there is only one conclusion when a rail station is on a rifle range.. so why would she link the shots to criticism of the Mayor? Some conclusions are outside reasonable range.

14 September 1985:  Can't you just hear the fuss in the Composing Room when Dovey hands in a cartoon in "Portrait" format?! The Players probably were not laughing at the shortened season, either. Let's hope someone found it funny!

21 September1985: Looks like "Gold Rush" was in trouble that year. Did it recover?

28 September 1985:  So, Amalgamation of Gympie and Widgee Shires was no fairytale ending for everyone!
